The eviction database has docket information for the Justice of the Peace courts for Ward 2 and Ward 8 of Lafayette parish.  These wards cover a good deal of the Class B/C neighborhoods in the Lafayette area, primarily Jackson Square, Pontalba Place, and Isle des Cannes.

Notes regarding the data:

  1. Every effort has been made to maintain data integrity, but there could be some misspelling or other transcription errors in the data.
  2. All data is available publicly but not easily accessible therefore we are transcribing and recording the data in this database as a public service and as a reference for current owners and property managers.
  3. Current data set covers 2021 – February 2025
Notes on using this database:
  1. To find a person who may have been recently evicted, enter the person’s name or part of their name in the “Defendant” field and click the Search button.  First names and/or last names are both acceptable.
  2. The search fields accept partials of names and addresses.  For instance, entering “Marigny” will return all cases involving an address on Marigny Circle.  Likewise, entering “Mar” for the address will result in all cases having the “mar” as part of the address– such as Marigny and Tolmark road.
  3. Same applies to plaintiffs and defendants.
